You have just landed on my blog page.
The aim of this site is to give you some helpful tips to change some of your defeating habits and help you understand how to transform them into healthy ones.
People are trying more and more to find a way to become fit and healthy.
Popular companies and commercials can be more hazardous than helpful on this matter.
I’ll do my best to spread some wisdom on wellness topic and make some light amongst the confusion.
First thing first. You do need to know few things about me.
I believe in a HOLISTIC type of training.
Some people somehow when they hear the word holistic feel like cringing.
Let’s make it simpler: BODY&MIND training.
I strongly believe in the power of the mind. Your mindset determines your achievements and your failures. Everything is doable if approached with a positive mindset.
The key is enjoy life. ‘Laugh is the cure of the heart’, my grandma was used to say.
Any kind of training programme approached with the ‘wrong’ mindset won’t work.
If you start training because somehow you are feeling that you MUST do it, you’re set to failure.
But if you want to train because you enjoy it then exercise is more likely to become part of your routine and will stick with you.
Physical activity has extremely good benefit on your body, on your mood and somehow on the people surrounding you.
Do you need me to be more convincing? Let’s try then.
The first reason to exercise that usually we think about is WEIGH LOSS.
Increasing your exercise level is definitely a good way to burn calories, therefore helping you losing fat mass.
All true, but it is also a good way to MANTAIN your weight or prevent fat gain.
So why not saying that everybody needs to exercise?
Prevention is actually a good word to refer to exercise.
Physical activity PREVENTS a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, certain types of cancer, arthritis and falls.
How? Let’s get more specific.Being active boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good” cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Yes I know BUT…
Are you stressed at work and you don’t have time to exercise? Do you feel depressed because you don’t have time for yourself?
Learn to make time.
Here are few other reasons why:
Exercising is a great MOOD LIFTER
If you are happier with yourself you will be much more efficient at work and will use your time better.
Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals (Serotonin for the experts), that make you feel happier and more relaxed. WARNING! You may be much happier seeing your reflection in the mirror when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem.
Exercise BOOST your ENERGY level
Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise and physical activity deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy to go through your daily routine, including carry your heavy shopping bags.
Exercise can be fun
It gives you a chance to experiment and prove yourself. Be curious be creative be BRAVE: always try something new.
Enjoy the outdoors or simply engage in activities that make you happy: take a dance class or join a squash team. Find a physical activity you enjoy, and just do it.
Nowadays everybody any age any gender exercise or feel they should. It is a great way to find new connection or spend more time with friends and family.
The biggest side effect that I can think of is Physical activity is addiction. And we’ll speak about the good and the bad side of it next time.
